NETZWERK FAIRE MODE KNOWLEDGE belong to the information platform and network NETZWERK FAIRE MODE. The latter aims at providing more transparency about ethical fashion labels to German-speaking consumers. We are building up an online platform that will help consumers find ethical fashion more easily.

NETZWERK FAIRE MODE KNOWLEDGE aims at decision takers in the fashion and textile industry or at governmental or non-governmental organizations working in this field. It provides background information on issues around fashion & sustainability, mainly through a free newletter. It also offers research and consultancy by a broad network of experts in Germany, Switzerland and producing countries in Asia. The knowledge platform is run by Mark Starmanns, who conducts research and consults on Fair and Ethical trade issues and on CSR. 1. Hi Mark,
This is just a quick note to say I really like your blog. The content is really informative!

I work as cotton project officer for Pesticide Action Network UK. I don’t know if you’ve come across us in any of your research (or perhaps our German colleagues PAN Germany) but we have been campaigning on the environmental and social costs of conventional cotton production; we help farmers convert and access market and then we help industry and consumers understand why eco-cotton is important.

Recently, we’ve been talking alot about whether organic cotton can play a part in feeding Africa: looking at how organic cotton production not just diversifies the income of farmers but improves their food security. So, consumers here don’t have to worry about the ethics of buying fibre from the developing world.

Do you host guest bloggers or would you be interested in writing something yourself about this?

I’d be delighted if your blog could cover the issues!

Let me know what you think.
    Kind regards,
    Eliza
